- Prepare 1 cup Urad dhal
- Take 2 cups Rice
- Get 2 cups Bombay sooji/ Semolina

- Soak Urad dhal, fenugreek seeds, rice for 3-4 hours. Drain the extra water, using fresh water grinde urad dhal and rice to paste. Mix the paste with sooji and ferment the batter for 6 hours atleast.
- After batter is fermented, add salt, chopped onions, coconut pieces, cumin seeds, red chilli powder, dill leaves/coriander leaves mix well.
- Heat the 'Appe' making tawa- grease the oil, put the batter in tawa cups -close the lid to bake-after 4-5 minutes, turn the Appe's using spoon to bake on other side. Bake on sim heat. Now Masala Gundupongalu/ Appe/ Paniyaram is ready. Serve with chutney or Sambar gravy.
