- Use for Preparing the Paneer:
- Take 250 grams panner/cottage cheese Cubed (cut into ½ inch pieces)
- You need 2 tbsp Cornstarch
- You need to taste Salt
- You need 1/2 tsp Black pepper powder
- Prepare 1 tbsp Ginger-garlic paste
- You need 1/2 cup Water
- You need 1/2 cup Maida
- Use for Paneer Chilli Sauce:
- You need 2 tbsp Oil
- Provide 1/2 cup Spring onion finely chopped
- Use 1 Onion cubed and layers separated
- Take 1 Capsicum cubed
- You need 1/2 cup red bell pepper, cut in squares
- Use 1/2 cup yellow bell pepper, cut in squares
- Take 8 Green chilies, sliced vertically
- Take 1 tbsp Garlic, finely chopped
- Get 1/2 tbsp Ginger, finely chopped
- Prepare 1 tsp Cornstarch slurry (cornstarch mixed with ½ cup water)
- Take 2 tbsp Soya sauce
- Use 2 tbsp Chilli sauce
- Use 1 tsp Vinegar
- You need to taste Salt
- Provide 1/2 tsp Black pepper powder
- You need 1/2 tsp ajinamoto
Steps to make Paneer Chilli Dry:
- Firstly, sprinkle 2 tbsp cornstarch on the paneer and give it a toss to coat it evenly. Let the paneer rest in the fridge for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Combine maida, cornstarch, salt, black pepper powder and ginger-garlic paste in a bowl. Give it a mix.
- Add water and whisk well to make a thick batter.
- Dip the paneer pieces in the batter and drop the paneer pieces in the hot oil. Turn the heat to low and fry them till they turn golden and crisp.
- Drain the fried paneer and take it out onto a plate, Set it aside.
- Now to make the sauce, heat oil in a non stick pan on high flame. Now add in the spring onion and saute it for a minute. - Add the ginger and garlic, along with green chilies. Let them Saute for a few seconds.
- After sauteing them, add cubed onions saute for a minute and then add cubed capsicum and bell peppers and saute for another minute. (Do not overcook the veggies.)
- Now add salt along with black pepper powder and ajinomoto. Mix it. - Then add vinegar, soya sauce, and chilli sauce. Give it a quick mix.
- Add the cornstarch slurry and mix. Bring the sauce to a boil. - - When it thickens, turn the heat off. - Add the fried paneer cubes and toss them once. - Garish with green spring onion.
- Chilli paneer recipe is ready. Serve hot. Enjoy!
